MELBOURNE | Southside Central is the Windsor outpost of popular Frankston bar Southside Social, and brings its famed range of burgers, craft beer and cocktails to the area. Downstairs the vibe is more burger bar, complete with requisite graffiti and hip-hop soundtrack, while upstairs continues the theme but with more of a bar feel, including a small outdoor deck and DJ booth for live hip-hop and R&B on vinyl.
Southside Central is known for their extreme burgers. Think the Fatty 5-0, with a double-beef patty, triple bacon, mac’n’cheese, barbecue sauce, pickles and sour cream mayo, or the Harlem Burger, with southern hot fried chicken, cheddar and maple mayo between two buttermilk waffles. If you want something more traditional and manageable though, try the Social Burger -single or double pattie, american cheddar, southside special sauce, onion & dill pickle in a butter toasted bun.
For sides its things like mac’n’cheese nuggets, fries, loaded fries, waffles and the like. There’s also an assortment of shakes which you can spike with booze, and cocktails like the Sherbet Mojito – light rum, table spoon of sherbet, fresh plucked mint, dash of vanilla syrup, fresh pressed citrus, ginger beer served over crushed ice.
